We were here for supper on a busy Wednesday evening. No reservations but we were greeted and sat at a table without much of a wait. The dining room is wide open and sits on a pier (I believe) with great views of the water. The menu is mostly seafood but there are seafoodless options . It is not a big menu but the choices are not overly complicated but sound delicious. They start you off with a nice homemade warm butterflake roll.. they serve the local craft beer from Gahan brewery and assorted wines plus a clever little cocktail menu with nautical themes. Loved the ambiance, even though it was wide open you still had a sense on intimacy because the tables were not crowded up together. Simple design and almost antique style wooden tables all with mismatched wooden chairs. A real nice touch The food, I started with the cram and curry mussels, tasty but the sauce could of been thickened a bit more to cling to the sweet mussels. A chunk of bread to sop up the juice would have been nice too. My wife had the battered fish with the potato salad and coleslaw instead of fries. Very well presented, two large pieces of crispy battered haddock loins and as silly as it sounds .. some excellent potato salad, homemade, a combination of chunky and mashed potato with plenty of egg and real mayo. The tartar sauce was homemade and excellent.. light, lemony with a nice hint of dill.. Highly recommend it I had the "Crobster roll" which was a nice helping of snow crab and lobster meat mixed lightly with mayo and grain mustard.. served in a brioche style hamburger roll and I had a side salad of baby greens and tomatoes and pepper.. Nice portions all around. The "crobster roll" was very tasty as it wasn't inundated with any excessive condiments. For dessert we shared the sticky date pudding/cake with the toffee sauce.. super delicious and now we have a gorgeous slice of coconut cream pie which hopefully we'll try soon!Service was decent, our waiter was relatively quiet but checked in us regularly. There is not a big selection of places to eat here in Alberton but if you are looking for upper casual this would be the place to go!
